The only people for me...

Summer thus far

Summer here in the Beehive State so far has been, well... wintry. May felt like March and so far June has felt like April. We had one really nice week where it got into the high 80's, but the sudden change in weather made most of the snow in the mountains melt which meant major flooding.
Not too far from where I live, Little Cottonwood Creek became a raging river and swept away many people's yards and some people had to evacuate because officials thought their houses might fall in too! Scary! Luckily, no one died... in case you were wondering.

Since the weather has been bipolar to say the least, I try to get outside every time we're blessed with normal summer weather. Laying in the grass just so happens to be one of my favorite things to do in the summer :]

One thing I love most about summer is getting to go visit my Gooma and Goompa down in Mount Pleasant. Small towns are just so fun in the summer! Here I am with the pit bull Roxi looking at some sheep. So cute, I wish we had sheep in Salt Lake. Anyways, Mount Pleasant has a cute little drive in movie theatre that I plan on visiting sometime soon. I can't wait to cross it off my list!

My little sister, Haylee Doll, and I went on a lovely hike up to "The Living Room". It's right above the University of Utah's campus and it's well... a living room! There are chairs, couches, coffee tables and even a TV! All made out of rocks of course. The view is INCREDIBLE! One of the best hikes I have EVER been on!

Here's my little Brody, what a cutie patootie.

What summer wouldn't be complete without family BBQ's? First one of the year was at my Aunt Sue's house and we got to see my cousin's new puppy Maple, isn't she cute? My dad couldn't put her down. I absolutely love going over to Aunt Sue's house, she is Lebanese and makes the yummiest food! Grape Leaves are my fav!
We even got a double rainbow that night!

These are just a few of the things I've done so far this summer. Lucky for me I have 2 more months of fun and have some super fun things planned, including a trip to Hawaii and DISNEYLAND! Can't wait to share those.

Life Lesson #19

Go America!

Once again, sorry about all the random videos. But I HAD to post this! I saw it while I was watching the World Cup today with USA and England. I almost peed my pants I was laughing so hard.

I love my country :]

Oh and did you know that England's flag is this...

and not this?...

I have always thought that the blue one was England's flag, and when I was watching the game today and people were waving the white one, I was SO confused! Apparently everyone else already new this.

I haven't felt this stupid since my mom told me chocolate milk doesn't come from brown cows.

But you know what, that's okay. My best friend RayCray thought lemons were vegetables up until a year ago. Now you know why we're best friends haha! Oh how I love her!

Pardon My Dust...

I am currently trying to redesign the page and make it a bit more video friendly. So if you're wondering what the heck is going on... now you know! Hopefully I can figure out all these mumbo-jumbo html code things and get everything rolling pretty soon.

United State of Pop 2009 (Blame It on the Pop)

I heard this remix on the radio a while ago and thought it was amazing! Then I just happened to stumble upon the music video and had to share. Enjoy!

Life Lesson #18

May/June Obessions

Good news friends! I finally got my laptop fixed! I accidentally cracked the screen a few months ago and it was really difficult to see what I was writing. I was just going to live with it since fixing it through Apple would be almost $400! But then my friend referred me to MacReboot, which is WAAAAY cheaper! So thank you Neil and thanks MacReboot! I would definitely recommend them to anyone who owns a Mac and needs some repairs.

So without further ado, I will now share with you some things that I have loved the past two months...

1. Neon Trees

I just love this band... I heard their song Animal on The Hills a few weeks ago and decided to look them up online. I ended up getting their album Habits and have been listening to them ever since! I also found out that they are right here from Utah! My personal favorite is their song 1983, it's super catchy and perfect for summer :]

2. doTERRA
My mom introduced me to this company. They are also based out of Utah, and they are the only Essential Oil company in the world that manufactures their oils organically, and every oil is 100% pure! They don't add fillers or nasty preservatives like other companies do. Personally, I don't like taking medicine. It usually just makes me more sick and the side effects are horrible. But this stuff is completely natural straight from Mother Nature herself! People have been using oils for thousands of years! They were so valuable, in fact, that some of them were worth more than gold! We bought a kit about a month ago and it has really blessed our family. I am planning on doing a post all about doTERRA in a day or tow, so I will go into further details then.

3. Hot Topic Nail Polish
I bought a bottle of Shocking Pink about a month ago and between my sister and I, we have used almost half the bottle already! All of Hot Topic's colors are super bright and fun! They even have clear nail polish that glows in black-light. How fun would that be when you go out dancing?

4. Arbonne Cosmetics
This is the best makeup I have ever used. I have the Makeup Primer, Creme Concealer, Perfecting Liquid Foundation with SPF 15. This stuff is magic. It doesn't get all cakey like most foundations, and it honestly lasts all day. Love it!

5. Bed Head Self Absorbed Shampoo and Conditioner
I have always liked Bed Head, their products smell amazing! I bought this kind last week and have fallen in love. It smells just like orange soda, and makes my hair super soft. The scent is perfect for summer and   all the vitamins and nutrients help repair hair damaged from all the sunbathing.

6. African Ice
Nothing says summer like shaved ice on a hot day. What makes this place special? Well, besides the fact that it tastes a million times better than all the other snow shacks, they help change the world one cup of shaved ice at a time. Half of every purchase goes to someone in Africa trying to build a business. Every shack has an are with three or four yellow funnels with pictures of someone from Africa and a little description about who they are and what kind of business they are trying to build. When you buy a snow cone, you get a little coin that you put into the funnel of your choice. Every coin represents $1. My favorite flavor is banana coconut with lots of cream! Mmmmm!
If you are ever in Utah during the summer, make sure you stop and get an African Ice!
