the "Hottie Wall"

So there is this wall in my room that has been really bare for, well, many moons. So last week I was online looking for inspiration when I found these über hot pictures of celebs on Pinterest (if you don't have a Pinterest you are waaaay behind the times). I've been printing them out and sticking them to my "Hottie Wall" one by one ever since. You're welcome ;]

Johnny Depp

Alex O'Loughlin

Orlando Bloom

Gerard Butler

Matt Bomer

Ryan Reynolds

Alex Pettyfer

Jake Gyllenhaal

Anyways... these are just a few of my favorites. What can I say? I'm a nerd who digs brunettes.
If you have any suggestions of hotties I need to add to my "Hottie Wall", please speak up!

What's the rush?

FACT:
The State of Utah has the lowest average age of marriage in the U.S.

ANOTHER FACT:
I know well over 20 people who I grew up with who are now engadged/already married/have kids.

So what I want to know is... What's the rush?

One answer I get over and over again every time I ask this question is, "Why wait?"

I personally don't believe that after knowing someone for hardly a month or two, you know for a fact that they are the one and only person for you and you must marry them as soon as possible... honestly now. What ever happened to getting to know someone before "taking the plunge"? I don't think you can know enough about a person to take said plunge in such a short amount of time.

So here is my reply...

Live life slowly.
Live life deeply.
Live life lovingly,
and
live life knowingly.

If you're "meant to be" with someone, they'll stick around. Just enjoy getting to know each other better. There is no rush on love. And if there is then you have a problem.

I want to see the world before I settle down. I want to take every adventure that comes my way before I continue on to the next chapter in my life. I want to know who I am and what I need before I get to know my someone else.

Fireworks

My deepest hopes are that I will live happy, and die happy.
That I'll never stay the same,
because we were never meant to belong to one place for long.
To take risks because they make for great stories.
To learn things I'll end up forgetting anyways.
To always be associated with something that makes people laugh.
To travel to far off places and see life through different eyes.
To love, forgive, and love some more.
To learn something new about myself everyday.
To accept things I can't control.

What are your deepest hopes?

This day...

Yesterday was one of those days that I was set to autopilot. I rolled out of bed, got ready for the day still half asleep, drove to school without thinking, didn't pay any attention in class, then went to work in a daze. Nothing special happened. Probably because I wasn't even aware of what was going on around me.

Today I promise to open my eyes and see the beauty that is everyday life. I don't want to think back on what I accomplished each day and not remember anything... Just another day wasted.

Here are 17 ideas to to make today AWESOME!:
1. Have a deep conversation with a stranger.
2. Crack out a coloring book and crayons and have at it!
3. Go for a walk somewhere you've never been before.
4. Dress up in something crazy and have a dance party in your kitchen.
5. Send someone flowers anonymously.
6. Make little notes of encouragement and leave them places people will find them. (Library books, car wipers, restaurant menus, bathroom mirrors, etc.)
7. Take a Zumba class.
8. Wake up at dawn and watch the sunrise.
9. Make smores over you toaster.
10. Watch your favorite movie in a different language.
11. Forget walking, skip!
12. Go to the nearest Hobby Lobby or any other craft store and spend no more than $10. Then make something to decorate a room in your house.
13. Make cookies and give them to your neighbor.
14. Buy a pet goldfish and give him the silliest name you can think of.
15. Paint or draw your self portrait.
16. Go out to eat and pick your meal by closing your eyes and pointing at the menu.
17. Volunteer for charity.

What are some things you do to make each day special?

Absolutely

I've come to learn that sometimes I am better off alone. I'm happier, I have more time to focus on the important things in life, I work harder and laugh louder. When I start falling in love my mind is always on him... I can't concentrate, my mind is always racing. One second I'm on top of the world and the next I'm getting smashed at the bottom. I spend less and less time with the people that mean the most to me and lose pieces of myself along the way. And then, when my world drops out from under me, I'm left with nothing.

I'd like to believe that someday the right person will come along and love me like my grandfather loved my grandmother: completely and absolutely. But until that day comes, I'm perfectly okay with being alone.

My Life

Nobody puts baby in the corner...

I thought I knew what I wanted,
only to find out what I wanted wasn't what was best for me.
I jumped in feet first only to scrape the bottom,
and that scares me more than anything...
to have no space to grow.

It makes me want to run to somewhere far from here.
A fantasyland.
A place where I can sink my feet into the ocean
and find a person different than the one I now see in the mirror.
A place just beyond that empty space at the end of each fingertip,
close enough to reach out and touch
in case fantasy doesn't live up to reality.
